Director of Communications
As communications director Santa oversees corporate communications strategy for ESPN’s combat sports programming, as well as the company’s U.S. Hispanic-focused business initiatives.
Santa is an accomplished leader with 15+ years of corporate communications, consumer marketing and corporate outreach experience. Prior to her current role, she served as ESPN’s associate director of multicultural marketing. She started her career at ESPN as a communications intern in 2001 and joined the company full time in 2002 for a newly created senior publicist role. In that role, she was part of the core team that launched ESPN Deportes, ESPN’s brand serving Spanish-dominant sports fans. She was part of the core team leading ESPN’s first efforts targeted to serving Latino sports fans.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Santa immigrated to the United States at the age of 14 and settled with her family in the Bronx, New York. During her sophomore year at Pace University, she interned for El Diario La Prensa, the oldest Spanish-language newspaper. It was during that time, that she realized that she wanted to pursue a career in the multicultural space.
